Does this work on any others or Fortress locks only? You said "any kind of combination lock" but later indicated Fortress locks...

this does work I done this 15 yrs ago it was first used with Master combination locks only
as of now I have no idea,it just has to do with the rounded locking bearing the metal slide right in because it is tapered

So it's called a clamp now?? Its called a shackle...... It will work on some padlocks that are cheap like fortress. Master lock 525 has false sticking points so its a little harder but it can still be done. I wouldn't put a fortress on my kids toybox they're junk... SS
