Ask for work in a nightclub as a DJ

Don't sell yourself too cheap, remember if you feel you are good enough and you can do the job it's worth something! Perhaps do a few sets for free for you to get the feel of the Club/ bar/ gig/venue and also for the boss/ manager to get to know you.

I cvan't ask for work as a DJ. I listen to music all day long and forget when the song of Rihanna comes although I hear it 100 times a day. THe only thing I understand is goats and cow's milk. I understand it better than any body else. Yet I doubt if I get ten investors to buy ten thousand dollars worth of stock each in my start up company to buy goats and rent farm land for my goat retailing.

good solid advice mate. I'm a professional dj myself and could have been playing out much sooner had i done what you advise. I waited until i was offered, which was just luck at the end of the day, but i just didn't have the confidence to ask. Now it's no problem because i know i can make the dancefloor fill up. It's all about confidence in your ability.
