A list of things you need to include when writing an invite for a party.

Step 1

Think about the actual invites. Are you going to buy them, or make them? If you buy them, it will cost more than making them but you will have all the information layed out, and you will just have to fill it in. If you buy invites, choose a good type. If it is for a child's party, don't pick a very formal invitation. And vice versa, if you are having a party for adults, you wouldn't want to send childish invites out! It might help to get age invites, in case people are not sure of the birthday boy/girl's age when buying a card or badge.

Step 2

If you are making them, design them on a computer if you have access. If not, just make them out of paper.

Step 3

Think about the information you need to include, such as the name of the person/people who are having the party, the name of the person you are sending the invite to, where the party is and an address if necessary, what time the party starts, what time the party finishes, RSVP information and any additional information. For example, if you were having a party at an ice rink, you might want to include 'Wear warm clothes!'

Step 4

Once you have gathered together all your information and checked that it is all accurate, write the details onto the invitations if you bought them or made them out of paper, and type them in if you are making them on the computer.

Step 5

If they are on the computer, print them out now. If you can, print them in color. Put all invites into envelopes if you want to send them, or don't if you are going to give it directly to the person and don't feel that an envelope is necessary.

Step 6

Send your invites and get ready for the party !

Tips

  • Write neatly and so that people can read it.

Warnings

  • Send them off with lots of time to spare so that people can reply!
  • Make sure that every detail they need is on the invitation card!
