If you have an Action Replay and Mario Kart DS, you also have something else: A WHOLE LOT of fun! Here is what you can do.

Step 1

Insert the Action Replay into your DS. Boot it up. When the screen informing you that this product is not licensed or endorsed by Nintendo ," you can take the AR out now.

Step 2

Put the Mario Kart DS cartridge in to the "insert game cart" prompt.

Step 3

When the AR recognizes the game, tap the checkmark on the screen.

Step 4

Scroll down the list until you find a folder icon and " HAVE POWER UP CODES ." Press A or tap the asterisk.

Step 5

Choose one of the ALWAYS have (insert item name here) codes. Check its box (A or asterisk).

Step 6

Choose GO (tap the big GO button).

Step 7

Choose Single Player and select a mode.

Step 8

Have fun! The item you selected earlier will be the only item you get, but from the very start of the race, you will always have one (infinite items!)

Step 9

Also, to get codes on your Action Replay you must have the program set up on your PC, or buy a certain type of Action Replay so you can add codes by going on the web.

Tips

  • Use the "ALWAYS have red shell" or "ALWAYS have Banana" options in Battle mode; these are best for it.
  • You can also cheat big-time and choose to always have thunderbolt (Lightning item) in Battle mode; this item isn't even normally available during a Balloon Battle!
  • The asterisk and A button do the same thing.

Warnings

  • DO NOT use the "ALWAYS have Spiny Shell" code if you are playing in Battle mode; trying to use the shell will freeze the game. The same thing goes with Bullet Bills.
  • AR does work with Nintendo WFC.
    • Some AR codes don't work with WFC. Some 700CC codes do, and some Moonjump codes do.
