Have you recently gotten your ears pierced and have an infection? ("New piercing" is defined as the time period when you can't wear dangly or hoop earrings or have recently started changing.)
Step 1
If your ears are newly pierced and you have not changed them yet, they might be having a reaction to the metal. It is normal to have tenderness on newly pierced ears, but if it is swelling or really really hurting, you should take them out. (Only if they were pierced that day or the day before.
Step 2
If they were pierced a few weeks/months previous to the possible infection, try to remember if you have been cleaning them 2-3 times a day. If no, then make sure to be good and twist them a lot, but make sure you have clean hands. This could be the cause of the infection.
Step 3
If you have been cleaning them, put some neosporin on and try to wait it out.
Step 4
For later infections after your changing them, be sure to take them out. If you are having trouble getting the back off, use needlenose pliers. It works.
Step 5
Then remove the earrings. If they will not come out, soak in a bathtub for about half an hour, trying to twist them. Soon enough they will come out, and you will be able to CHANGE THE EARRINGS! Then put some neosporin on it and make sure to clean it 3 times a day for at least a week!
Step 6
Wait out the pain. Pain is beauty.
