This will allow you bidirectionally synchronize your Facebook status with your Twitter status.

Basically, this means that your tweets will become your Facebook status, while your Facebook status will be sent as tweets.

This How-To assumes that you have your Twitter and Facebook accounts up and running.

Step 1

Install the fb2twit Facebook application

  • This will send your Facebook status updates to Twitter

Step 2

Under the Twitter Login tab, enter your Twitter login and password into the fields.

Step 3

Under the Advanced Options tab, check Strip 'is' from the beginning

Step 4

Put the text that will be added (by twitterSync) to the beginning of your Facebook status updates in the ignore updates containing field.

  • In this example, we used "(via Twitter)"

Step 5

Enter what will be added to the beginning of your tweets into the field labeled Prepend text to twitter.

  • This will be added to the beginning of your tweets and will be used to tell TwitterSync which updates to exclude.

Step 6

Install the TwitterSync Facebook application.

  • This will pull your tweets from Twitter and make them your Facebook status.

Step 7

Enter your twitter username into the field labeled Twitter Name

Step 8

Only enter a password if your tweets are protected (not public).

Step 9

Enter what will be added to the beginning of your status updates into the field labeled Prepend Verb.

  • This will be added to the beginning of your Facebook status and will be used to tell fb2twit which updates to exclude.
  • In this example "(via Twitter)" is used.

Step 10

Enter the text that fb2twit adds to your tweets into the field labeled Filter tweets containing

Step 11

It is highly recommended that you also filter out tweets containing "@" so that replies on twitter do not end up as your Facebook status. To do this; add "|@) to the field labeled Filter tweets containing

  • In this example, the exact code would be (via Facebook|@)

Step 12

Check Filter is Regex

Tips

  • In this article, a "tweet" is a twitter update.
  • First use the example text and then go back and change it if you want.
