Nerf guns can be a ton of fun to play with. But they can be hard to shoot accurately. Here are some things you can do if you are having trouble hitting your targets.

Step 1 Figure out how the gun shoots and reloads

You aren't going to be able to shoot anything if you can't fire and reload your gun. You always fire with the trigger and you almost always reload by inserting the darts into the front of the gun or inserting a magazine.

Step 2 Find a target

Good targets are a softdrink can, a dartboard, or anything that you can shoot at with your dart gun.

Step 3 Shoot at the target

Aim at the target and fire. If you hit it, good job. Move back, or find a smaller target. If you miss, keep trying.

Step 4 Practice shooting and reloading quickly

Use a target and fire as many shots at it as you can as fast as possible. This will be useful when you play with your friends because you need to get another shot off quickly, or your friend will run up and get an easy hit on you.

Step 5 Try different scenarios

Try hiding behind something and going up for a second to fire a shot, and then ducking again. You can also try putting your back to the back of a wall next to a doorway and practice peeking around and firing quick shots. Do anything that applies to what you want to use your Nerf gun for.

Step 6 Keep practicing.

Step 7 Have fun!

Tips

  • Read the instructions that come with your Nerf gun.
  • Don't shoot at people until you master hitting stationary targets.
  • Generally, you will need to aim high, especially at further distances.
  • Get your friends to get Nerf guns so you can play shooting games with them.
  • Wear glasses or goggles to protect your eyes, especially when playing in low visibility conditions. You will be amazed at the "accidental accuracy" of other people.
  • If you lose a dart, don't give up looking for it too quickly. You will be amazed at how quickly you will lose them.
  • Don't fire at close range objects too much. They will wear out your darts faster.
  • Learn exactly where the dart will go at different ranges.
  • If your gun just does not fire accurately look for a way to modify(mod) it.
  • When sighting a target youre breathing keeps you from aiming straight.Either hold your breath or whenever your sights come back on the target squeeze the trigger a little more. That way when you do fire you will hit your target

Warnings

  • Don't aim for the face. You might hurt the other person.
  • Someone might get upset if you shoot them without them knowing beforehand.
  • NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER try to shoot somebody if you are not in a Nerf war.
