Running is a very important skill that everyone should be able to do. You probably had to run in gym and other places. And you've probably gotten so tired that you just wanted to fall to the ground.

This article will improve your running skills. If you're a good runner go to the tips for ways of running even faster:

Step 1

Warm up! Before you begin exersicing or running always warm up. This will tell your body that your about to do some serious exersice.

Step 2

Be healthy already! Get as much as calcium and vitamins as possible. You have to be healthy and in good shape to run. Try going low on junk food or soda. Stick with milk, juice, water, fruits, vegetables, and meat!

Step 3

Drink water! Your body needs water to survive. The amount you should be drinking is approximately 8 glasses per day.

Step 4

Go easy on yourself! When you're starting to run, just jog. You should find your pace. Once you do, you should be able to jog 400 meters without getting tired. If you do get tired, then slow down or go a smaller distance.

Step 5

Breathe Make sure you breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Step 6

Speed it up! Once you can jog without getting tired, then add only a bit of speed. Don't go too fast.

Step 7

Keep going! Once you get tired, don't let it stop you. You are so much stronger. You must fight the tiredness.

Step 8

Have a break. Don't run every day. You'll wear yourself out. Take a day off for relaxing.

Step 9

Cool down. Do some cool downs. This will tell your body that its over.

Tips

  • When relaxing or taking a break, try doing small warm ups every hour.
  • Every week or so, try to add speed to your jogging.
  • Participate in sports such as soccer, baseball or basketball. Anything involving a lot running will help!
  • Cold milk and a cold shower in the morning will wake you up! Warm milk at night produces chemicals that help you sleep.
  • Use your arms to help you run. Curve your hands to pull yourself, and don't leave them straight by your waist. This will slow you down.
  • Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth
  • Have a goal!!! Also think of the future!
  • Listen to music with a continous beat. But not one that will get annoying.
  • Use your breath to help you pace yourself. Example:2 short breaths in and 2 short puffs out

Warnings

  • Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Running should be fun!
  • ALWAYS warm up and cool up. If you don't, it'll put your body in shock!
  • Drink water before and after you run or do any exercise.
  • Be careful. Running in warm/hot weather can give you heatstroke!
