Have you ever wished you could take your favorite iTunes songs onto your cell phone? Well, with a Verizon Wireless cell phone, computer, and a music essentials kit, you can!

Step 1

Install the Cell phone drivers. These should be included on a disc in the music essentials kit, along with the music manger. If for some reason you cannot get the drivers, from a disc, you can download them by searching Google for "(Your cell phone type) computer driver.

Step 2

Install the Music Manager. This will also be included on the Music Essentials Kit disc.

Step 3

Download and install Audacity, a nice recording program, from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Step 4

Download the LAME mp3 converter from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3

Step 5

Once it is downloaded, unzip it to your desktop, or wherever you want it. When you export a sound/song as an mp3 from Audacity, it will ask you to locate the LAME file, so remember where you put it.

Step 6

Open up Audacity and iTunes. In Audacity, click the scroll bar that says 'Microphone' and switch it to 'Stereo mix.'

Step 7

In iTunes, click the song you want to get onto your cell phone.

Step 8

In Audacity, click record. Quickly Switch to iTunes and click play. Don't change the volume on iTunes or your computer while recording- it will show up on the recording.

Step 9

Wait until the song is finished, then click stop recording in Audacity, and THEN stop iTunes.

Step 10

Delete any unwanted silence or excess music in Audacity.

Step 11

Click the arrow on the little box that says 'Audio Track.'

Step 12

Scroll down and switch the sample format to 16-bit.

Step 13

Click file-export as mp3.

Step 14

Name the File what you want and save it in "My Music."

Step 15

Identify the location of the LAME encoder.

Step 16

Click OK.

Step 17

Repeat steps 5-15 for other songs you want.

Step 18

Open up the Music Manager.

Step 19

Import your song/songs.

Step 20

Add them to your Sync List.

Step 21

Connect your phone. Do this by connecting the cord first to your phone, then to your computer. The music manager should then recognize your phone.

Step 22

Sync the songs on your sync list to your phone.

Step 23

Disconnect your phone.

Step 24

Open up your vcast music.

Step 25

Enjoy listening to your new songs!

Tips

  • If you already have songs in MP3 or WMA format on your computer, instead of MPEG4 (iTunes) music files, you can directly import them to the Music Manager.
  • To make things easier, you can buy songs from the vcast music store, which also sells songs for 99cents each. They add the charge to your monthly phone bill.
  • If you already have a phone-computer connector cable for some reason, then you don't have to buy the music kit. You can just download the drivers and music manager from the internet.

Warnings

  • If you use this method to distribute or sell the iTunes songs for profit, it is illegal.
  • When downloading items from the internet, beware of viruses.; Only download from trusted sites
