A simple guide explaining how to make delicious pancakes, which are also suitable for vegans.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- one cup of vegan baking mix, or all-purpose/plain flour
- ½ cup plain or vanilla soy or rice milk
- strawberries, blueberries, bananas, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, maple syrup, or any other toppings of your choice can be arranged on top of the pancakes, or incorporated into the batter before cooking
Step 1
Turn your stove or electric skillet onto medium high heat.
Step 2
Mix together one cup of baking mix or all-purpose flour and 1/2 of a cup of soy or rice milk with either a large metal or wooden spoon. It's not necessary to add more milk. The batter will be lumpy. Add any fruit or chocolate chips you'd like to add at this time.
Step 3
Spoon two to three heaping spoonfuls of the batter you've just made onto the prepared pan or skillet in one place. Do not grease your pan or skillet.
Step 4
Flatten out the batter with the back of your spoon.
Step 5
Flip the pancake over, as soon as you're able to pick it up with your spatula and have it keep it's shape.
Step 6
Every few seconds, flip the pancake over again, and flatten it, until you have it completely cooked on the inside, and to your desired color of golden brown.
Step 7
Repeat steps 3 through 6 until you have no more batter.
Step 8
Arrange pancakes on a plate stacked on top of one another, and top with desired toppings.
Step 9
Enjoy.
