If you have an emergency, and need to secure items together, but you're out of glue, don't have a cow. Milk one.

Step 1

Pour an 8 oz cup of milk into a pan.

Step 2

Heat this on a stove at 120°C (250°F). Let it warm, but not boil.

Step 3

Add a tablespoon of vinegar, and stir the mixture. Continue stirring even when solid clumps of material form on the surface.

Step 4

Place the strainer over the jar (preferably resting on it), and pour the mixture through the strainer.

Step 5

Use the spoon to press the clumps through the strainer, and release the liquid.

Step 6

Remove the material from the strainer, and place it back in the pan on the stove.

Step 7

Add 100 ml (½ cup) water and a tablespoon of baking soda to the liquid.

Step 8

A casein material will begin to bubble. When this stops, use the leftover liquid as glue.

Warnings

  • Wait several hours before using any item secured with this glue.
  • This can be very messy; make sure you take care, and tidy up the area when you've finished, or preferably as you're going along!

Things You'll Need

  • Milk
  • Small pan
  • Tablespoon
  • Vinegar
  • Measuring jug
