Body whip is a healing and soothing type of body cream that is a little heavier than lotion, but not as heavy as body butter. Offering deep moisturizing qualities as well as delicious scents, homemade body whip pampers your skin and your olfactory senses.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. cocoa butter
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. virgin coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbsp. emulsifying wax
  • 1/2 tsp. stearic acid

Hand mixer

  • 5 tbsp. rose hydrosol
  • 2 (400 IU) vitamin E capsules

Step 1

Measure into the heat proof container 1 tsp. of cocoa butter, 1 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp. of virgin coconut oil, 1/2 tbsp. of emulsifying wax and 1/2 tsp. stearic acid and place the container in a saucepan of water.

Step 2

Place the pan on the stove at medium heat. Stir the ingredients constantly until they melt completely.

Step 3

Remove the container from the heat and as soon as you can, begin to whip the ingredients with a hand held mixer on medium speed. Once the ingredients begin to thicken, slowly add 5 tbsp. of rose hydrosol and the contents of two 400 IU vitamin E capsules. After about 5 to 10 minutes of continuous blending, your coconut rose body whip should have a thick, buttery consistency.

Step 4

Transfer your whip into a clean 6-oz. glass jar and store in a cool dark place, such as the refrigerator or bathroom cabinet.

Tips

  • Use your coconut rose body whip within 1 to 2 months.
  • Make your coconut rose body butter in a large heat proof container with a pouring spout, such as a heat-proof glass measuring cup. This will allow you to melt your ingredients without adding so much heat that the beneficial properties are destroyed.

Things You'll Need

  • Large heat proof container
  • Small saucepan
  • Clean 6-oz. glass jar with tight fitting lid
