Interested in adding a sailboat decoration to your desk, or perhaps creating a gift tag? This article sets out how to make an origami sailboat which you can use in many different ways.

Step 1

Get a square piece of paper.

Step 2

Fold it halfway like a half triangle.

Step 3

Take the two sides and pull each one to the top one by one.

Step 4

Pull them down.

Step 5

Take one part of the middle and pull to bottom.

Step 6

Pull the two sides back up, one by one again.

Step 7

Turn it over.

Step 8

Fold the turn part to the bottom, over the bottom half.

Step 9

Fold over a little part of the end bottom for it to stand on.

Tips

  • Big, small, however, they work the same.
  • You can use a leftover newspaper page, and it works!
  • Fancy or casual paper- the same!
  • Don't go over the budget getting pretty origami paper. And don't travel far just to get one slate. Get a cheap kit of origami paper, or one of those origami kits with the directions and everything ( that has examples that are better than this, sort of)!
  • You can decorate your boat any way you like. It's yours, you're creation, so go crazy or artistic with it! It's not mine! Color on it however you'd like!

Warnings

  • Try not to get paper cuts!
