You've tried to buy one, but never got the courage. Now what? You're going to make your own.

Step 1

Get out a simple pair of underwear and lie it out on a flat surface, front side up. Draw a line about 3" from the bottom (the "leg hole"), curving out to the waistband. Repeat on the other side of the front. Basically it's cutting off the base of the legs, leaving a V shape of fabric in the front. Be sure to only cut the front this way and not the back!

Step 2

Now do the same thing on the back instead, that you did on the front. Then cut until there is a string in the middle, leaving a little "V" of fabric at the top that is attached to the waistband. Cover the string with a sheet of fabric about 2" wide, twisting the fabric around it until it still looks like a string. Sew it on using teeny, tiny, close together straight stitches. Or just cover the back of the fabric piece with fusible web tape, and wrap it around the string.

Step 3

Try it on. If it's too loose, which it most likely will be, sew a little bunch of fabric together, using a straight stitch or a running stitch. Stretch it about a bit until it is comfortable.

Tips

  • If you think it's boring, get out a Bedazzler and make little firework patterns or sew on embroidery, lace, or sequins.
  • Want softer fabric? Cover it with silk, fake fur, satin, or whatever you want.

Warnings

  • Hand-washing and hang-drying is crucial. Keep out of direct sunlight.
  • Also, the home-made thong might give a rash inside your bottom, considering the kind of fabric the panties are made out of.

Things You'll Need

  • Underwear
  • Scissors
  • Fabric
  • Needle & Thread
  • Fusible Web Tape
  • Doodads & things to spice it up.
