Have you ever wanted a Corey Taylor (from Slipknot) mask, but the only ones you see online are too expensive? With a little time, and some inexpensive materials, you can make your own! (This tutorial tells you how to make his old mask and his 2008 one.)

Step 1

Get something the size of your head. (Maybe a mannequin head, or if you don't have one, try using a balloon. Measure the circumference of the widest part of your head, and inflate a balloon to widest part's circumference of the balloon being that, plus about 5 cm. (2 inches.)

Step 2

Put a clean, woman's stocking/pantyhoes on the head/balloon.

Step 3

After that put duct tape around it. (Thick masking tape still works, but duct tape is better.)

Step 4

Cut a slit up halfway on the back of the mask and take it off.

Step 5

Cut out the eye, mouth, and nose holes out.

Step 6

Spray paint it green or gray for the old mask, and white, off-white or yellow for the 2008 mask.

Step 7

Cut holes for dreads. (Only for the old mask.)

Step 8

Put in rope and tie in knot. (Only for the old mask.)

Step 9

Attach Velcro straps to back.

Tips

  • Use small pieces of tape, it will turn out better that way.
  • Have lots of reference pictures, there are some videos of very well-made masks on internet video sites.
  • Commercial duct tape is recommended, it's stronger, stickier, and more durable. It can be found at most hardware stores.

Warnings

  • Add several layers of tape, to make sure when you cut the holes that the mask won't fall apart.
  • Be sure to make your mask a little bit too big rather than too small, that way you can get it on and off easily.

Things You'll Need

  • Clean stocking
  • Duct tape (recommended) or thick masking tape
  • Paint
  • Rope (Only for the old mask.)
  • Scissors
  • Mannequin head/balloon (or something about the size of your head)
