This is a neat way for kids to make their own pipe cleaner friends.

Step 1

Create a "V" shape with the pipe cleaner. Make a small loop at the top for the head placement.

Step 2

Twist the pipe cleaner a few times to make the "body" figure. The leftover two sides will become the legs.

Step 3

Curl another pipe cleaner around a pencil or pen.

Step 4

Loop the legs through the curled one and move the curled one up onto the twisted part to make the torso.

Step 5

Bend a third pipe cleaner in half and loop it through the head part. This will become the arms, as you can clip it shorter on both sides if needed.

Step 6

Create another curled pipe cleaner and place it on top of the head placement. This curled pipe cleaner will turn into the head.

Step 7

Create the hands and feet by curling the arms and legs in a small circle.

Step 8

Add other features. Glue wiggly eyes and add a different color pipe cleaner around the neck as a scarf.

Tips

  • Use different colors of pipe cleaners between the actual body and torso, as it'll look like the person is wearing clothes.
  • To have a more realistic and cleaner person, use scissors on the arms and legs to shorten them. You can also tighten the torso.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 pipe cleaners, with some leftovers for other features
  • Scissors
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Glue
