Ever wanted your own cocktail umbrella? Well now you can make one!

Step 1

Place a small Dixie cup (the ones that usually come in the dentists offices) on a sheet of construction paper. It should have the narrow part on the paper, the open part up top as a normal cup would stand atop a table.

Step 2

Carefully trace the bottom of your Dixie cup on the sheet of construction paper using your pencil.

Step 3

Decorate the circle that is now on the piece of construction paper using additional construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.

Step 4

Carefully cut out the circle.

Step 5

Use a ruler to draw the diameter of the circle.

Step 6

Located the diameter of the circle, draw a point where the center of the circle is located.

Step 7

Erase half of the diameter, so that you are left with one radius and the center point on that circular piece of construction paper.

Step 8

Cut along the radius up to the center of the circle.

Step 9

Fold over the circle into a cone- like shape and glue it. This will be the basic shape for the umbrella. It should remind you of a Chinese hat.

Step 10

Use your toothpick, carefully poke a hole through the top of the umbrella. (This hole was formerly the center of the circle, and is now the vertex of the cone).

Step 11

Pull the toothpick through and glue to the paper if necessary.
