Many people know how to make a paper airplane or a paper balloon. This article will show you how to make a paper tank.

Step 1

Start with a piece of paper that is 12 inches by 2 inches.

Step 2

Cut off a rectangle one inch by 2 inches.

Step 3

Align the paper vertically in front of you.

Step 4

Fold the top left corner to the side, then unfold.

Step 5

Repeat step four for all the corners.

Step 6

There is now an X at each end. Fold each end back to the end of the X. Pick up and push in the left and right side of the X. Push down the top to form a triangle.

Step 7

Repeat for the end closest to you.

Step 8

At the top triangle, take the right corner and fold it so the corner flap touches the top of the triangle.

Step 9

Repeat on the left side.

Step 10

Spin the paper around.

Step 11

Fold the right corner of the triangle to the left so it touches the left corner.

Step 12

Fold the flap up so it touches the top of the triangle.

Step 13

Fold the flap back to the right.

Step 14

Repeat on the other side. You should end up with a diamond shape.

Step 15

Bend the entire shape backward and interlock the triangles by inserting the flaps from the top end into the diamond at the bottom end.

Step 16

Compress down.

Step 17

Take the top 1 inch by 2 inch piece and roll it up into a tube.

Step 18

Insert the tube into the top of the tank to form a barrel.

Tips

  • Make hard creases to help the tank stay together better.
  • You can be creative with coloring!
  • Using recycled paper can help save the environment!

Things You'll Need

  • 12 by 2 inch piece of paper
  • Tape, or something to hold the tube of paper into its shape
  • Scissors
