An easy and fun activity to do. Any child or adult will love this "rainy day" project. It's fast to make, and the finished object is awesome and fun to "play" with.

Step 1

Prepare your "bubble juice." Mix up water and baby shampoo, or any liquid soap, in a large bucket or dish.

Step 2

Dip your straw in the "bubble juice." Get your straw, or your choice of "bubble wand", and dip it in the "bubble juice". There should be a film of the solution at the end of the straw. Carefully move the straw near your plate.

Step 3

Blow your bubble. Blow a bubble of any size, just make sure it can fit on the plate. Don't blow it directly onto the plate; blow it right over the plate.

Step 4

Put your bubble on a plate. Carefully place your bubble on a plate. Your bubbles may pop several times before you can finally put one onto a plate.

Step 5

Freeze your bubble. Put the dish very gently inside a freezer. Wait for about 30 minutes to an hour, checking on your bubble every 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 6

Take out the bubble. When your bubble is frozen, take out the plate very gingerly, making sure it does not crack. It will last for about 10 minutes, more or less.

Tips

  • After a couple of minutes, you can even spray the bubble a couple of times and then re-freeze it so it becomes more solid and doesn't melt.
  • Also, try putting some drops of food coloring into a little water, and then spray it and then re-freeze it. It looks pretty colorful when you do.
  • Try putting the plate in the sink, and blowing bubbles into the sink. That way the bubbles go directly onto the plate.
  • Sprinkle some of the "bubble juice" to the plate so bubbles will not pop when they land on the plate.
  • Try blowing multiple bubbles on one plate to make a masterpiece!

Warnings

  • Small children may be able to lick or attempt to eat it, so watch out when playing.
  • Bubbles in your eye may irritate,so wash out carefully.
  • If you shut the freezer door too hard your bubble may pop when it bangs.

Things You'll Need

  • Water - any amount really but small batches work better
  • Baby shampoo or your choice of any liquid soap
  • Bubble wand or straw
  • Bucket or large dish
  • Plate or flat dish
  • Freezer
