If you want to send a bottle of soda shooting up in the air, follow these directions.

Step 1

Buy a package of Mint Mentos from your grocery store or gas station as well as a 2 litre bottle of diet cola.

Step 2

Slide the outer cover off the Mentos package. Don't unwrap the silver cover.

Step 3

Tape the role of mentos to the top of the cap from the inside, quickly screw the cap on (make sure for the tape to not interfere with the threadings).

Step 4

Shake well.

Step 5

Find an open area with either rock or concrete.

Step 6

Open the cap just a little, until it starts fizzing.

Step 7

The moment it starts fizzing, throw it down on the ground, cap first as hard as you can.

Step 8

It should rocket into the air leaving behind a stream of coke.

Tips

  • Throw the bottle the second it fizzes.
  • Shake it really well.
  • Use mint Mentos
  • Use diet soda (it fizzes more)
  • Don't use fruit Mentos

Warnings

  • Throw the bottle away from you if you don't want it to shoot into your face.
  • If you don't unscrew the cap, just make sure it lands on the top so the cap can't break and hurt someone.
  • You may want to use hot glue in stead of tape if you don't have any tape (but wait for the glue to dry before putting the cap on).

Things You'll Need

  • pack of MINT Mentos
  • one 2 liter diet coke bottle
  • Free, clear outside space
