Ever wanna impress someone with your mad magic skills and didn't have enough equipment? This tutorial will teach you how to make a penny go up through your hand with use of only ONE penny and your hands!

Step 1

If you don't have a penny, ask whoever you're showing the trick (or someone else) for one. Take a penny and place it on the palm of your right hand. Show it to everyone, who's interested in trick.

Step 2

Now, make a fist, holding a penny on the tips of middle and ring fingers. Take your left hand and cover the top of right hand up.

Step 3

Lift your both of your hands up real fast and let them back down. Don't do anything with penny yet. Open your fist and show that penny is still there.

Step 4

Repeat previous step about 2 more times before you actually move on to next step.

Step 5

Now, that your audience is little bored, it's time for trick. As you lift your hand up real fast, shoot (flick) the penny (requires practice, but it's possible!) with your middle and ring fingers into your left hand and, as you start to let your hand down, try to "slide" the penny into the center of the up-side of your right hand. Since your past few tries were not successful, audience will be very amazed with the sudden appearance of the penny. This has to be done really fast, so the audience doesn't notice the journey of the penny.

Step 6

take the penny and show the audience that you don't have anything in your palms. Return the penny, if you borrowed it.

Tips

  • Be sure to pull your sleeves out, cause if you don't, audience might think that you're hiding a "back-up" penny in there.
  • You have to be somewhat skilled with the manipulation and passage techniques, so be sure to practice a lot! These articles might help with practicing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin_manipulation
  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin_magic
  • Try to learn to move the coin to your left hand without lifting it much.
  • After long practice, try to reduce the amount of hand you're covering with your left. That makes it look more amazing.

Warnings

  • Do not repeat the trick (no matter how much audience asks you to), unless you know the other way to do it (found here: Make a Coin Go Through Your Hand, cause now that audience knows what's going to happen, they're gonna pay a lot more attention.
  • Don't perform the trick without practicing it first. You have to get it (on your practice time) at least 10-15 times in a row before performing it, cause it will be really embarrassing if you drop the penny during your act.
  • Never give away the secret of the trick, or the trick will be well-known in your community and the next person you show the trick to might already know it.

Things You'll Need

  • A penny
  • Pair of hands
