Step 1
Download firmware version 1.1.1. You can download it at " http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=386895 "
Step 2
Downgrade the firmware. If you are using 1.1.3, you will need to hold the "home" and "power" buttons down for 10 seconds. Then release the "power" button and hold the "home" button for 10 more seconds. If you are using 1.1.2 firmware, you don't need to do any thing, and if you are using 1.1.1 already, skip to step #4

Go to Itunes and plug in your Ipod. Click on your Ipod in Itunes, and click on the "Restore" button while holding down the "Shift" key. A window should appear. Then, you must find the 1.1.1 firmware you downloaded earlier. Click on the firmware. It will downgrade your firmware.

Then, on your Ipod's "Safari" web browser, goto "www.jailbreakme.com". Go all the way down to the bottom and click on "Install AppSnapp".

Let it do its thing. When it finished, your home page should have an icon called "Installer"

Go into "Installer" and it will refresh its sources. It will ask for you to donate, but you do not need to. Click on the install button on the bottom. Then, go down to "Tweaks (1.1.1). After that, find the application called "OktoPrep". You will need to download it.
Step 7
Go to " http://www.macrumors.com/2007/11/08/iphone-1-1-2-firmware-released/ " and download the file. Then, go into Itunes and click on "Check for updates". Again, select the firmware and it will upgrade.
Step 8
Then, you will need to download a program to jail break your 1.1.2 Ipod. You can download it at " http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html "
Step 9
After downloading it, you will need to open it with winzip, and extract the file "windows".
Step 10
Press "Ctrl, ALT, Delete" and click on procesces and "end" anything that has the words "iTunes" in the process.

Go to the folder you extracted the "windows" program to, and click on jailbreak.bat.
Step 12
Look for a window that should appear. In the window, there should be a box that says "Install SSH". Don't click on it, as it is inferior to 'OpenSSH' which can be located inside Installer after you jailbreak.

Click on the button that says "Jailbreak!"

Wait. It will then do a ton of things. Once it is done, your Ipod will reboot a couple of times, so just wait until it is finished.
Step 15
Once it is done rebooting, go into installer and go to "All packages" and find "Official 1.1.3 Jailbreak" Download it.
Step 16
Exit back to the Home Screen by pressing the 'Home' button (located on the bottom of the iPod. Unlock the iPod.
Step 17
Once you have unlocked, navigate your way to Settings>General>Auto-lock. Change the setting to 'Never', as the following package will be accessed from the Home screen.

Finally, you need to tap on the icon entitled 'Upgrade' The icon is the Apple logo with two bars in front of the picture. It will take a while to download, so be patient. Once it is finished, you will have a jailbroken 1.1.3 iPod touch!
Step 19
Once the 'Upgrade' program has finished, you'll find that you will have a new icon named 'Installer' Tap on it, tap on 'Install' tab found at the bottom of the screen.
Step 20
Locate 'All Programs', and proceed to download both BSD subsystem, and OpenSSH(in that order).
Step 21
To get the January Software Update pack, go to Installer, tap on 'Sources' tap on 'Edit' (top right), and then on 'Add' (top left).

Voila! You have the JSU pack for free!
