Have you ever wanted to hack an iPod Touch, but couldn't hack it because you were running version 1.1.4? (Note: This works on any firmware, 1.0.2 and up!)

Step 1

Get an iPod Touch (any gigabyte is fine) and have it ready.

Step 2

Open up Internet Explorer.

Step 3

Go to http://theiphoneproject.org/index.php/downloads?func=fileinfo&id=6

Step 4

Click download. That will download iLiberty.

Step 5

Click "Run" on the window that will pop up.

Step 6

Go through the process of installing it by clicking Next and accepting the Terms of Agreement.

Step 7

Run iLiberty once it's installed.

Step 8

Plug your iPod Touch into your computer.

Step 9

Wait for iTunes to pop up (if it normally does) and Minimize it. Do not close out of it. You will need it later.

Step 10

Go into iLiberty and you will see a window that has 4 options on it that you can check.

Step 11

Check the boxes, Jailbreak and Setup Installer.

Step 12

Click Go For It!

Step 13

Unplug your iPod and plug it back in.

Step 14

Wait a few seconds for it to get your iPod in "Recovery Mode" and hack it.

Step 15

Check out your iPod screen. It has a bunch of crazy applications running and it looks awesome.

Step 16

Take it out and you have a hacked iPod Touch!

Step 17

Add stuff to your iPod Touch by clicking on the Installer app on your iPod and there, you can download third party applications.

Tips

  • This only works for Windows.
  • After you complete this, you may have to plug it back in and re-load your songs to your iPod. If this happens, don't panic.

Warnings

  • If this does not work or for some reason it crashes, you can always just plug it into your computer and Restore it with iTunes.
  • If you restore your iPod Touch in iTunes, your iPod will no longer be hacked. It will just be a boring iPod Touch.
  • This will void your warranty with Apple.

Things You'll Need

  • An iPod Touch (any gigabyte)
  • A computer that runs Windows XP or Vista or MAC (use diff. jailbreaking software)
  • Patience
