Got a sick pig? Make sure s/he takes the necessary medicine.
Step 1
Using a teaspoon, crush the tablets into powder or open the capsules and pile the contents in the middle of a large, flat dish with some sort of sides, such as a cafeteria tray.
Step 2
Using the teaspoon, create a well in the pile of medicine powder. Similar to the well you would create in mashed potatoes to hold the gravy.
Step 3
Place one teaspoon of cranberry juice in the well and gradually incorporate all the medicine into the juice.
Step 4
Place one teaspoon of canned dog food in the juice/medicine. Chop up the dog food so that it is covered in the juice mixture.
Step 5
Put the pill in food such as apples or cucumbers. You may have to cut them up first.
Warnings
- Your pig may be more aggressive than usual when he doesn't feel good. Be sure to keep everyone away when he is taking his medicine so he doesn't get stressed and feel the need to "protect" his food. Also, most antibiotics are not good for pigs or any animal or human.
