You keep trying to fluff your hair in the rear view mirror on the way home from the salon. " It doesn't look that great..." You think, and when you get home and take a good look in the mirror, you confirm: " I got a bad haircut." What to do?

Step 1

First decide what you don't like about your haircut. Is it too short? Not short enough? Not even what you told the hairdresser to do?

Step 2

Straighten your hair if your hair is cut too short. With this method your hair will appear longer. Try method when you have curly or wavy hair.

Step 3

Rewash your hair if you don't like your hair after a visit to the salon. After you washed it you can restyle it yourself to the way your like.

Step 4

Curl or crimp your hair. If you want your hair to be shorter you can curl or crimp it. This will take some of the length off of it.

Step 5

Cut your own hair. This is rather risky but it may make your hair look better if it's a simple cut.

Step 6

Be patient. Wash your hair, give it a couple of days. Soon you'll be used to it and it'll look like normal.

Tips

  • If you're getting a haircut for school or some occasion, make sure you get it done at least a week before you have to go there. This will give you time to get used to the haircut and figure out how to make it work.
