Step 1

Clean and dry your hands thoroughly.

Step 2

Open your hand and face your palm to the ceiling.

Step 3

Swirl some nontoxic glue on your palm. Keep your palm held out firm, with the hand opened. Elmer's glue or a craft glue make a good choice.Pour a lot of nontoxic glue because it will shrink when you blow dry it.

Step 4

Spread the glue so that it covers all of your palm.

Step 5

Use a blow dryer for as long as it takes to dry. When you first start drying it put the blow dryer on high, then once it dries better put it on low.

Step 6

Color the palm with the dried glue on it with a washable marker of your choice. Be careful. If the glue is not dry the marker won't color on it.

Step 7

Make a small circle inthe middle of the dried glue with your fingernail, keep making it larger until the edges are about string width.

Step 8

Keep opening it carefully without breaking the circle that is being formed.

Step 9

Separate the finished glue edge from the palm of your hand gently. If necessary, mold the bracelet with your fingers, by rolling it between your index fingers.

Step 10

Enjoy wearing your bracelet made out of glue!

Tips

  • When coloring your bracelet, you can use more than one color.
  • It looks prettier when you wear more than one bracelet, especially if they are made from different colors.
  • Instead of a bracelet, you can also make a ring by following the same steps except that in the end you can wind it around any of your fingers until it fits.
  • If the first bracelet you make breaks, don't worry, it just takes practice.
  • If the bracelet keeps breaking, try adding more glue, but be aware that it will take longer to dry.
  • Try using wax paper instead of your palm to get a bigger and flatter work surface.
  • If the bracelet is taking too long to dry, try using a blow dryer on low heat to speed it up. Or sit outdoors in the warm sunshine and breeze.

Warnings

  • If you pour too much glue on your hand, it will take more time to dry, but the bracelet will turn out thicker.
  • Do NOT wear these bracelets into the shower unless you intend on ruining them!
  • Do not use superglue or any other glue that can bind to human skin. If you do, you will have to use Acetone (found in some nail polish removers) to take it off. Note that Acetone is a toxic chemical that can irritate your skin and (in high concentrations or with long term exposure) may damage your body in several ways. Read all warnings accompanying the Acetone, and when in doubt, contact a medical professional. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Remember to keep your hand straight and open while the glue is drying or it won't turn out well.
  • It will get damaged, and the color may run into your skin if the bracelet gets wet.
  • If you tug or pull on it it will rip.
  • It may ruin the markers as well!

Things You'll Need

  • Nontoxic craft glue (for example, Elmer's, Aquadhere)
  • Washable markers
  • Blow dryer
