Step 1  

Stack eleven nickels and arrange them as shown.

 

Step 2  

Place eight more stacks of nickels, and arrange them as shown

 

Step 3  

Place four more stacks on top your base off-setting to create a border

 

Step 4  

Top off with your last stack center it to create the pyramid effect

 

Step 5  

See how big you can make one. You can make it bigger, but you will need to make the base longer/wider. This one needed more than 1,000 nickels.

 

Warnings

  • If you have more than eleven nickels to a stack your pyramid will be too tall.
  • If you have fewer than eleven nickels to a stack your pyramid will be too wide.
