Linoleum floors require a different cleaning process than other types of floors. By following these steps, you can have a shiny floor with minimum effort.

Step 1

Step 2

Look to see if your floor requires a cleanser, have some on hand before beginning.

Step 3

Vacuum or dust the floor before hand mopping. Any particles you leave on the floor will make the job quite messy.

Step 4

Get a bowl and fill it with warm water.

Step 5

Add your cleanser now if desired.

Step 6

Stir or mix.

Step 7

Get a mop and dip it into the warm water.

Step 8

Clean your linoleum floors well with the mop and water.

Step 9

Rinse by repeating the above steps with clean warm water free of cleanser.

Step 10

Use a clean towel to wipe down the floors.

Step 11

If your floors have deep grooves in them, use a bristle brush. Dip it into the water, and brush the floor to leave it clean. Then, towel dry it when you have finished.

Tips

  • The more loose dirt you remove before beginning, the more efficiently the rest of the job will go.
  • Run a fan during the entire operation to keep moisture from staying on too long. This will lessen the amount of time you will need to keep others from walking on the floor again.
