Different weapons have different uses for different situations. Here is a list of weapons to choose from and tips on how to use them.

Step 1

Learn all of the weapons names. Know how much ammunition they can hold.

Step 2

During campaign, you will usually start with an assault rifle and a battle rifle. Do not use these the whole level. Experiment with different weapons (i.e.,Covenant weapons).

Step 3

Learn how to melee (press b). Meleeing is a vital tool. Many battles in multiplayer end with a melee.

Step 4

Experiment with different vehicles. Find which ones you like best.

Step 5

Learn which weapons are ideal for close range and mid-range and long range.

Step 6

Learn your grenades inside and out.

Tips

  • Assault Rifle- good for close to mid range battles. fast when it comes to meleeing. Fast shooting. An all-around reliable weapon.
  • Battle Rifle- One of the best weapons in the game. It shoots in three-round bursts that scatter, with the last bullet further off the targeting reticule, but can be a great sniper as well as a close-range weapon. Not bad meleeing.
  • Beam Rifle- An excellent sniper. Overheats quickly.
  • Brute Shot- A solid weapon that fires grenades. It is very dangerous in close range action, especially when an enemy is cornered. fire directly at enemy, emptying the clip quickly.
  • Carbine- The Covenant version of the Battle Rifle. It will only fire one round each time you fire.
  • Energy Sword- A great weapon to use in close range. Effective for lunging. Hit B in a swords duel for a faster strike.
  • Flamethrower- Effective against vehicles and ground units. Low ammo. Close Range only.
  • Fuel Rod Gun- The Covenant version of the Rocket Launcher. It can ricochet at closer ranges.
  • Gravity Hammer- Can blast vehicles and ground units out of the way. Also good for playing baseball =).
  • Machine Gun Turret- Can be detached. So now you can move and shoot with them! Remember, while it is attached to its base, it has infinite ammo.
  • Magnum- A small pistol with a headshot bonus.
  • Mauler- A short range weapon (think of it as a mini shotgun that can be dual wielded). A single shot at close range will remove your opponents shield, then melee for a quick kill.
  • Missile Pod- a great tracking weapon. The missiles will track the vehicle. In campaign, these can be effective against the Scarabs.
  • Needler- A powerful weapon. Great for mid close range. if you hit the target with 7 needles, an explosion will suddenly blow up the target.
  • Plasma cannon- a Covenant version of the Machine Gun Turret.
  • Plasma pistol- The most basic weapon of the Covenant weapons. Can be effective if overcharged, which drains the opponents shields in one hit. If you melee, your guy will throw a punch.
  • Plasma rifle- Covenant rifle that fires plasma bolts at high rate.overheats quickly.
  • Rocket launcher- Launches rockets. Instant death usually.
  • Sentinel Beam- battery powered laser. Average in my opinion.
  • Shotgun- deadly at close range. A fast-killing weapon. Great meleer.
  • SMG- great at close and mid range. Longer accuracy than Halo 2. Firing rate is extremely high compared to others. dual wield with a plasma rifle for best results.
  • Sniper rifle- fastest killing weapon. One headshot or two body shot is instant death. 5-10x scope. Long range weapon
  • Spartan Laser- Anti- vehicle, anti-tank, anti-infantry, good as much anti-anything weapon. It takes 3 seconds to charge for a shot, though. otherwise, it is one of the most accurate and powerful weapons.
  • Spiker- The Brute version of the SMG. Shoots spikes. Melee is stronger than SMG ddue to spikes.

Warnings

  • Not all weapons work for certain styles of fighting.
