Many people, when taking care of African Clawed Frogs, realize there are eggs in their cage at one time. This article will tell you what to do if you want to raise the eggs.

Step 1

Separate the eggs from the adults! If you do not the adults will most likely eat their own eggs. It is best to put all of the eggs in one tank half full with an airstone in it.

Step 2

Wait for the eggs to hatch (2-3 days). In another 2 to 3 days the tadpoles will swim freely. When the tadpoles begin to hatch you should count them. You can never remove a tadpole with a net. A good way to move and count them is in cups. You should fill your containers with pond water/greenish-brown water. 25 tadpoles per gallon.

Step 3

Change out half of the water with fresh pond water every 2 to 3 days.

Step 4

Welcome your tadpoles in about 40 days to 140 days -- feed them like adult frogs only with less food.

Tips

  • Grow a Frog stage 1 food is easier than the pond water. Just change the water one time a week if you use it. Two pinches of it a day for 25 tadpoles.
  • Grow a Frog are African clawed frogs.

Warnings

  • No filters including sponge filters.
  • Never use a net until they become froglets.
  • The eggs are naturally a white color, and it does not mean they are sick.
  • tadpoles swim head down, so do not think they are dead.
  • The tadpoles are filter-feeding so feed them powdered fish food or infusoria.

Things You'll Need

  • Pond water/greenish water
  • 1 gallon of water for every 25 tadpoles
  • 10 gallons of water for every froglet
  • Air stone
  • Air pump
