Sunlight is a horrific thought for vampire Sims, but when nightfall arrives vampires are ready to dance the night away without any Need depletion (eating, sleeping, going to the bathroom, etc.) This article will tell you how to become, cure, and live as a Sims 2 vampire. To become a vampire, you must have the Sims 2 Nightlife expansion pack.
Step 1
Once you start the game, wait untill it is night time and get a ride down to a community lot. Look for gray colored, oddly dressed sims with fangs. Befriend them and build a high relationship with them. Sooner or later, he or she will bite you. After a brief transformation, you are officialy a vampire!
Step 2
Alternatively, you could cheat. Press ctrl+shift+c while in the game. Then, in the cheat box type in "boolProp testingCheatsenabled true" without the quotations. Note the lower case and spaces. Now, hold shift and click on your sim. Choose "make vampire". Your sim will have fangs and skin will turn gray. Your transformation into a vampire is complete.
Step 3
Remember that whenever there's sunlight around, don't even think about taking your vampire sims outside, unless you want to pay the consequences. Keep them indoors, away from windows or other sources of light, and have them rest all day long in their dark, comfortable coffin. While they sleep, their needs will not decay (pun not intended).
Step 4
Note that after the sun sets, the vampires rise and head out to enjoy the comfortable, non-dangerous, nighttime environment. Their needs will not decay, and this is a great time to go on long dates and party the night away - that is, until sunrise the next morning. Make sure you buy coffins for your newly transformed vampire they are about 1,500 dollars each.
Step 5
To cure it, call over the matchmaker or witch with the potion and purchase the vamprocillin-d potion. Once he or she drinks it, they are cured instantly. This potion costs 60 Simoleons.

Tips
- Unless your normal Sim has a very high playful mood, there is a random chance he or she may be frightened to death by a vampire after disturbing his sleep. Be careful as you do this.
- Your vampires have some very neat new interactions and abilites: they can bite other Sim's necks, fly as a bat, and stalk around. They also can't drown and don't have a reflection, but they still can use a mirror like any other sim.
- If your vampire Sim would prefer to drive to work in his or her car, it would be a good investment to attach a garage to the house to avoid any contact with the sun.
- If your Sim has a high enough relationship with another vampire Sim, they can influence the vampire to take the Vamprocillin-D potion.
Warnings
- If your vampire Sim is outside during the day and starts to sizzle with smoke, head indoors immediately!
- Vampires can't age, so if you want to live a long life and die of old age, cure the vampirism.
