Do you want to be graceful and artsy, like a fairie? Here's a guide to show you how!

Step 1

Decide on the style of fairie suited to your interests. Fairies are generally graceful and beautiful. They can be as delicate as Tinkerbell. Given the wide range of fairie types: Goth, Frou-Frou, Hippy, Vintage, etc., you have a good selection to choose from. Whatever you do, incorporate your own style into it.

Step 2

Create your own fairie hairstyle. You have many options, from a short, spiky pixie cut to long, flowy curls. A dramatic look is best. Any hair color can work, but particularly red, black, or platinum blonde. Multi-colored hair is also very fairy-esque.

Step 3

Walk gracefully with your head held high. Without being conceited, be proud of who you are.

Step 4

Speak with confidence, clarity and diction.

Step 5

Broaden your interests and perspective by reading classic literature and familiarizing yourself with authors such as Dickens, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien and, of course, J.M. Barrie (the author of Peter Pan).

Step 6

Practice an art form such as dance, theatre, painting, music, writing, photography or singing. Most likely, there will be something that you are good at and didn't even know it. Use your art form to express yourself (This is very very healthy for your mind).

Step 7

Select fairie suitable clothing. A fine balance between fitted and flowy works well for most ladies. The general look to go for is graceful and somewhat strange. A few suggested garments include sheer, colored tights, full skirts, floral headbands, puffy-sleeved shirts, and lace-up vests. Look for historical, fantasy inspired pieces with a modern twist. For a more daring look, try wings.

Tips

  • Look for dramatic accessories such as studded belts and collars, silver jewelry, large fake gems, and hair ribbons.
  • For shoes, pumps or sparkly ballerina flats work well.
  • For makeup, wear minimal eyeliner. Sparkles (in moderation) are another great addition. Another cool thing to try is drawing butterfly wings on the corners of your eyes, or stars along your cheekbone with liguid eyeliner. Be creative!
  • These are good sites for inspiration, although they don't have every kind of fairie: http://silverstars.us/art/paintings/gallery.htm , http://www.amybrownart.com/ , http://www.enchanted-art.com/
  •
  • Memorize this article
  • Wear metallic and neon nail polishes
  • Keep in good shape and dont be too skinny.

Warnings

  • Don't overdo it.
  • Don't swallow yourself in a costume. Be who you are.
  • Be prepared to be brave and try new things.
  • Some people might think that this is stupid.

Things You'll Need

  • Optional: Hair Dye
  • Accessories (This is entirely up to your personality)
  • You may need different clothing. Don't stress. The first place to look is your closet. There may be things you didn't know you had or items you can alter. The next place you look is your local thrift store. If you don't see anything you like, try Ragstock, Forever 21, or Target.
