Very cool... But i'd like to know how to get them to flush themselves.... I've seen videos about cats that can also use a toilet, but were trained to flush it too... Unfortunately none of these videos were how-to's.

I tried this 15 years ago with a commercial setup. It didn't work then. But now I've got different cats, and your step system to adding water to the bowl is different. I think that's the difference to make it work... I've never seen a sphinx with color points/ He looks great! I've got a Siamese and a Devon Rex. I think I'll get started!!!

DO NOT DO THIS!!!!! Many years ago I had a wonderful, smart cat that I thought this would be a great idea. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! I stupidly followed the directions and what happened was this traumatized my cat so much he refused to use the box. Unfortunately I was living in an apartment and I couldn't keep a cat that peed on the rug and I had to put him to sleep (no one wanted a cat that peed on the rug.)

You have to be very careful with this. Always use two cat boxes while you are training him. If you cat doesn't go in the box on the toilet -- he will never use it. Go back to using the old box and throw this stupid thing away!!!!!

You HAD to put your cat to sleep? Pets are a life long commitment and that is a really stupid reason to put down a LOVED ONE! #$%@ the apt., I wouldn't care what my land lord said. I will stand by my pets through anything and help meet there needs no matter what. That is just being plain selfish! It's called cleaning the #$%@en rug! Febreeze it! I would only put down a pet if there was nothing else that could be done for their health or if they were in pain. Stop getting pets you selfish #$%@!+* if you treat their lives so carelessly! Like I would take advice from a cat killer.

I think that was really brilliant. Only a cat owner can understand the true brilliance behind toilet training your cat. No more litter, scooping, changing. It's worth any amount of effort to toilet train your cat. Now, you and your cat can enjoy one another more without the personal nature of the relationship.

You don't want to teach the cat to flush. If you do, it'll flush over and over to watch the water go around and around, and you'll end up with a huge water bill.
