Practice the Maravich basketball drill the hike A- 0:30

Learn how to improve your game with this basketball drill. The athlete should begin in a good squat position. Level 1: Start with the basketball on the floor between the feet. Have both hands on the ball in front of the legs. Then switch by taking the hands around the legs and then putting the hands on the ball behind the legs. Then continue by moving the hands to the front and to the back continuously. Level 2: Start by holding the basketball between the knees, with both hands in front. Then let the ball bounce once as the hands go around the legs and catch the ball behind. Level 3: Hold the basketball between the knees, with both hands in front. Toss the ball back and move the hands around the legs, and catch the ball in the fingertips behind you. As the athletes become more proficient have them catch the basketball “quietly” in their fingertips, and do it quicker. Basketball drills are essential tools for a coach hoping to improve his team.
