Snowboarding: Hit the Slopes With Style
There was a time when simply riding a snowboard made you the extreme guy on the slopes. But now, with more people strapping on a board instead of skis, the stakes have been raised. Fortunately, we've lined up this video tutorial to keep you on the cutting edge. See how to frontside 900 on a snowboard.
Trick: Frontside 900
Difficulty: Hard
1. Frontside 900 will require a bit more torque than the 720.
2. Consider this: If you're loose, you'll get more out of your jump than if you're tight (and stiff).
3. You can start your tick at the base of the vert (vertical area of the half-pipe). This is where you wind up for the spin.
4. Wait until the lip (the last four inches), then you open up and release, leaving the pipe into your spin.
5. Remember to stay loose in your abs to assure a smooth spin.
6. When you want to stop spinning, that's when you tighten up your mid-section and stomp the landing.
