The basic grill rub ingredients include: 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 4 tsp salt, 4 tsp paprika, and 4 tsp brown sugar. Mix together thoroughly.
Marinade: 1 cup water, 1 cup vinegar (balsamic or cider vinegar are ideal), and 2 tbsp of rub (recipe above). Stir until fully combined.
Cooking instructions: Place thawed bone-in chicken breast in zip lock bag along with marinade overnight. Before starting grill, drain marinade and discard. Pat chicken dry. Sprinkle entire surface of chicken with rub as you pat and turn it. Set chicken aside and prepare grill to 375 to 400F. Place chicken breasts, bone side down in grill. Cover and cook for 45 minutes at 375 to 400F.
