How To: Insert a Tampon Like an Adult

Insert a Tampon Like an Adult

Inserting a tampon is a rite of passage for every teenage girl, so it's important to know how to insert a tampon the right way. It could seem tricky at first, but after trying several times, tampon insertion becomes as easy as putting on a glove. It just takes practice, & this video will show you the animated process. The key is to RELAX! Worrying about it may make you tense, making insertion even harder.

Step 1:

Look at & study the parts of the tampon.

Step 2:

Wash your hands. Sit on the toilet with your legs apart & lean slightly forward, or try sitting with your knees slightly bent.

Step 3:

With the thumb & middle finger of one hand, hold the applicator lightly on the outer insertion tube at the grip location, with the larger outer tube facing up toward your body & the thinner inner tube pointing down toward the floor.

Step 4:

Gently separate the folds of skin around the vaginal opening. Put the tip of the larger outer tube of the tampon applicator in the opening of the vagina.

Step 5:

Aim the tampon toward a point low on the small of your back. Gently push the larger, outer tube of the applicator into the vagina. Stop when your thumb & middle finger are touching the vaginal opening.

Step 6:

Next, put your index finger at the end of the inner, thinner tube. Push this inner tube slowly until it's completely inside the larger tube. This pushes the tampon out of the applicator & into your vagina. Move your finger from the end so that the string hangs free. Keep your thumb & middle finger on the outer tube grip.

Step 7:

Hold the tubes (that are now inside each other) firmly, but gently remove them from the vagina. If it feels uncomfortable, it's probably not placed far enough into your vagina, so remove the tampon & use a fresh one, trying to insert it a little deeper into the vagina.

Step 8:

To remove a tampon, relax your muscles. Slowly & gently pull the removal string downward at the same angle you used to insert the tampon. Don't worry about the string – it's securely sewn throughout the tampon.

Shantell97, why don't you learn to type proper English when making a rebuttal? We are all entitled to our own opinions. But if you are going to make one, let's try using some more eloquent diction. No one will take you seriously if you can't take the time to actually spell words.

yeaaaaa sexualhealing ooooww lol

Prince Charles wanted to be Camilla Parker Bowles' tampon! Does that make him a vampire? or just sick in the head

Here is my opinion.
People do have runny noses sometimes , that does not mean they have to stick tampons into their nostrils.
Tampons are very unnatural thing. They create extra friction, dryness, extra pressure, chemical misbalance, constipation, frequent urination and slow the blood and other normal discharge from flowing out of the body freely and clearing the area. Also, a woman, while using tampon, becomes involved with activities she'd avoid normally during her periods, like going into a pool, dancing, swimming at sea, doing other strenuous physical activities since in her eyes tampon takes care of everything. It is not true. it only takes care of a visible part of the period, it prevents blood from, God forbid, accidentally showing up on woman's clothing! During periods female ovaries are very vulnerable to damage, and some unnecessary bang, hit and strong vibration can cause them to rapture.
Tampons create extra pressure in the pelvis, thus predisposing a woman to varicose veins inside pelvic area. That can cause in the beginning itchiness, sweet tingling of sorts ( confused with sexual arousal), then pain, and since those blood vessels are not visible from outside, this varicose veins can remain undetected and untreated until it is too late (clots form) or even misdiagnosed for the diseases of reproductive organs.

Kinda dissapointing its animated

wonderful

In the interests of science, of course.

Tampons and their applicators are NOT flushable, I don't care what manufacturers say. They clog up sewer lines, especially older ones. Those manufacturers aren't the ones who have to unclog sewer lines so please don't flush them unless you don't like the person whose house you are at and you want to be mean to them.

I prefer Pads with good panties which are meant for those days only like adira period panties , they are more safe and Comfortable. Tampons are unsafe & can cause a TSS infection.
